What will you cut at your papercut workshop?
With over 40 exclusive papercut templates to choose from at your papercut workshop, you’ll be spoilt for choice! Alternatively you can cut your own personalised family tree or wedding/anniversary tree. You give me up to 6 names, (or two names and a date for a wedding tree) and I’ll design it and send you a JPG to approve and your personalised family tree template will be ready and waiting for you to cut on the workshop day. Simply add the tree you’d like to cut at the checkout or contact me after booking if you change your mind and want to add it later.
What happens next?
On ordering you’ll receive an automated email, then on the next working day I’ll email you with your lunch menu to choose from for your papercut workshop. There are hot and cold options available, and all dietary requirements can be catered for – just let me know.
If you’ve ordered a family tree template to cut on the day, then I’ll design this ahead of time and email you a JPG a few days before the papercut workshop date to make sure you’re happy with the design you’ll be cutting. If you don’t add a tree design then you’ll be choosing your template on the day from a wide range of beautiful templates.
What to expect at the papercut workshop
My papercut workshops are held at Kyleigh’s Papercuts HQ – my riverside studio and shop in the heart of idyllic Wimborne in Dorset. Your workshop will start at 10.30am with a warm welcome and a cuppa after which you’ll be introduced to two scalpels and begin the first of three practise sheets which get progressively more challenging. We break for a delicious lunch provided by The Riverside Cafe next door before spending the afternoon cutting a template of your choice, stopping only for afternoon tea and homemade cakes. You won’t be able to move after the cake, so head back to your chair and spend the rest of the afternoon happily lost in the relaxing art of papercutting. I promise you, you won’t want to stop.
If you happen to finish cutting your template during our workshop, then depending on the size of the template you chose there are some frames available for you to buy and I can frame your creation ready for you to take home. Ask me if you’re interested in a frame and I can run through at the workshop for you.
Our day ends at 4.30pm (although be advised we have been known to just keep cutting! so put an extra half an hour on the car!) where you’ll be given your pack to take home and also 2 more templates of your choice to keep up your papercutting in your own time.
Keeping you safe
Classes at present are limited to just 5 (plus me) in line with the current covid government guidelines. Maintaining a socially distanced workshop space and and keeping you feeling safe, secure and happy is my priority right now. The tools you use will be cleaned and ready for your sole use – there is an option to buy a brand new cutting mat and scalpel which you can use during the workshop will be yours to keep at the end of the workshop [read about how I’m keeping you safe here].
