Your personalised family tree – designed just for you

Each personalised family tree papercut is designed entirely from scratch, making it as unique as your family. There is no one-size-fits-all template. Branches and leaves are added individually to create a totally original family gift.

Designed from a blank page each time, no two family trees are the same – you can fit up to 6 names and 4 pets (see images for the many different pet silhouettes to choose from). There are a wide variety of dogs, cats, chickens and ducks and even speedy the tortoise!

Beautiful G. F Smith Paper, of course

Your family tree will be cut from one sheet of beautifully gorgeous, high quality G.F. Smith paper which is available in a beautiful array of colours: Gold, Silver, Flecked Cream, Bright White, Ebony, Real Grey, Sapphire, Tabriz Blue, New Blue, Turquise, Marss Green, Emerald, Yellow, Citrine, Mandarain, Fuchia Pink, Bright Red or Purple.

Hand cut or machine cut – what is the difference?

Your family tree design can be meticulously cut by hand cut with nothing but a scalpel and plenty of patience and time, or cut by a machine. This is the cost effective option . There’s no discernible difference – unless you look VERY closely. I offer the choice of how to cut your papercut because I am aware that some love the design and don’t really mind how it is cut while others really love and appreciate the craftsmanship of a piece that is cut by hand. The price difference accounts for how long handcutting takes versus machine.

Whichever way you choose to cut your tree, it will be carefully hand-finished – each little leaf hole carefully picked out by hand.

Framed or unframed? That is the question

Your personalised family tree papercut will need to be shown off to make the most of it. The best way I have found to do this is to frame it within two sheets of glass which gives the illusion of it ‘floating’ and therefore highlighting the fact it is cut from paper – this means you can also turn it over and see the signature and ‘handcut with love’ on the back (hand cut option only) and also you can see the colour/wall behind – so you can get creative with colour choices and shadow.

Unframed personalised family trees include a framing advice sheet and will be slightly mounted on a sheet of paper of a contrasting colour depending on what colour you choose for your tree. It is placed on a foamboard to keep it strong and inside a biodegradable corn starch cello bag before being wrapped in tissue paper and posted in an all-board envelope.

Framed personalised family trees come in a choice of white or black bevelled edge floating frames that have a saw-tooth hanger on the back which helps to hang on a wall. they are lovely and wide so you can stand them on a mantle, a window sill or a shelf if wall space is at a premium.

ALL family trees come with a Certificate of Authenticity signed and dated. Hand cut family trees will be signed and dated with ‘Handcut with love’ in pencil on the back.

Each papercut is cut from a single sheet of 21 x 29.7cm (A4) but each family tree will vary as no two are the same!
